Introduction
Conveyor belt systems are integral to various industries, enabling efficient transportation of materials. A critical component of these systems is the conveyor belt roller. Different types of rollers perform specialized functions, ensuring smooth operation and longevity of the conveyor system.
Types of Conveyor Belt Rollers
Carrying Rollers
Carrying rollers are used to support the conveyor belt and its load. Typically installed in a troughing formation, they maintain the belt's alignment. Standard dimensions include diameters ranging from 89mm to 219mm and lengths from 190mm to 3500mm, catering to different belt sizes and load capacities.
Impact Rollers
Impact rollers are strategically placed at loading zones to absorb the energy and reduce the impact caused by loading materials. These rollers have a standard diameter between 89mm to 159mm with rubber rings that aid in shock absorption.
Return Rollers
Return rollers support the empty side of the belt and are characterized by their smooth surface. They are crucial in maintaining the belt's tension and are available in diameters of 63.5mm to 159mm, ensuring minimal friction and wear.
Guide Rollers
Guide rollers help in maintaining the conveyor belt's alignment on the straight and narrow path, preventing potential misalignments and deviations. These rollers are crucial for systems with horizontal curves.
Cage Rollers
Cage rollers, or spiral rollers, aid in cleaning and preventing material buildup on the return side. They are specifically designed for self-cleaning operations, extending the belt's service life and are generally 76mm to 159mm in diameter.
Steel Rollers
Steel rollers are widely used due to their strength and durability, particularly for heavy-duty applications. They can support loads exceeding 500 kg, with diameters usually between 60mm and 170mm.
Rubber Rollers
Rubber rollers provide an additional grip on the belt, reducing slippage and extending belt life. Commonly used in wet or greasy environments, these rollers come in various hardness levels, usually measured in Shore A, from 50 to 80.
