Daily maintenance of hydraulic press

A customer from Iraq bought a embossing press machine and asked us about maintenance. Here is our advice to customers.

What are the maintenance precautions of hydraulic press machinery in daily use?

1. Check the main connectors of the device

After the operation of the new equipment and the overhauled and restructured equipment for half a month, check the main stress joints of the equipment and check whether the lock nut is loose under the rated working pressure of 25Mpa. If it is loose, it indicates that the accuracy of the equipment is not reliable and the accuracy should be readjust. It should be inspected annually thereafter.Whether it's a gantry hydraulic press or a bmc manhole cover.

2. Apply anti-rust oil

When the hydraulic press or punch press is not in use for a long time, all machined surfaces should be cleaned, coated with anti-rust oil, and supports of equal height (cross buckle or block) should be added to the workbench.

3. Check the pressure gauge and temperature controller

Check pressure gauges and temperature gauges frequently. If the quantity is inaccurate or damaged, it should be repaired or replaced.

4. Stop the machine for inspection

If oil leakage is found, stop the machine for inspection and replace the sealing ring. Whether manhole cover hydraulic press or four column press or gantry press.

5. Pay attention to eccentricity

Under nominal pressure of 500T, centralized load allows eccentricity of 40mm. If the eccentricity is too large, the column may be stressed or other undesirable phenomena occur

6. Clean the tank

Before the system is assembled, the tank must be carefully inspected and cleaned to ensure that the inside of the oil filling tank and the pipes are clean and free from corrosion and contamination.

7. Work pressure should not be too high

The rated working pressure of hydraulic press should be adjusted according to the actual needs within the range of 25MPa, and the working pressure should not be too high, so as to prolong the service life of various pumps and valves, save energy and reduce the heating of the system.

8. The slider should always be filled with lubricating oil

The slider should always be filled with lubricating oil, keep the exposed surface of the column clean, and oil should be injected before each work.

9. Control tank temperature

During the working process, the oil temperature of the tank should be between 10 and 55. If the oil temperature is too high, stop working and wait for the oil to cool before starting to work, so as not to damage the oil pump and seals. When the room temperature is below 20, N32# antiwear hydraulic oil is used as the working medium. When the room temperature is higher than 30, N46# antiwear hydraulic oil is used as the working medium. The oil temperature should be controlled within 15°C-50°C.

10. Keep clean

When assembling and disassembling each component, it must be kept clean, and no debris is allowed to enter the valve block and cause pollution.

11. Change your oil often

The oil must be kept clean and changed every six months. The first use should not exceed 2 months. If the oil does not deteriorate, fine filtration can continue to use. The oil filter in the tank should be cleaned regularly. When refueling the tank at any time, it must be strictly filtered, and the leaking oil shall not be poured directly back into the tank. The liquid level in the tank shall not be lower than the oil label line.
