CNC machine tool is short for digital control machine tool, is a kind of automatic machine tool equipped with program control system. The control system can logically process programs with control codes or other symbolic instructions and decode them so as to make machine tools operate and process parts.

CNC lathes are composed of CNC device, bed, headstock, tool rest feed system, tailstock, hydraulic system, cooling system, lubrication system, chip removal device and other parts.

CNC lathes are divided into vertical CNC lathes and horizontal CNC lathes two types.

Vertical CNC lathes are used for turning disk parts with large rotary diameter.

Horizontal CNC lathes are used for turning long axial size or small disk parts.

CNC lathes can also be further divided into flat bed hard rail cnc lathe, flat bed linear rail cnc lathe, slant bed linear rail cnc lathe.

Compared with ordinary machine tools, CNC machine tools have the following characteristics:

● Can carry out multi-coordinate linkage, can process the shape of complex parts;

● Machining parts change, generally only need to change the numerical control program, can save production preparation time;

● Machine itself of high precision, rigidity, can choose favorable processing amount, high productivity (generally 3~5 times of ordinary machine tools);

● High degree of machine automation, can reduce labor intensity;

● Higher requirements for the quality of operators and higher technical requirements for maintenance personnel.
